Let's talk about those young moms who have the cutest babies, and a chic house (perfect backdrop for pictures), who post pictures of their adorable babies in that picture perfect house with adorable inspirational captions and baby's milestones?
I've watched this demographic grow before my eyes in the last 1-3 years and I'm eating it up. It's such a joy watching my friend's (and even strangers') babies grow up on my feed.
Above is my adorable videographer|mom friend, Rachel, who embodies everything lovely about the Insta-mom trend. Follow her if you love heart-melting cuteness.
Picture perfect is great and all, but I believe the real emotional appeal comes from the advocacy for authenticity online. Many are calling out the unrealistic online mom persona standards they're subject to and it's really having a positive effect on their audience.
I've seen a positive correlation between mom's who post precious photos AND are real online, get the best audience engagement. Which makes perfect sense.
A new generation of moms has taken mommy blogging to the next level and created close-knit communities. They share tips, recipes, mommy hacks, inspiration, decorating how-to's, they ask for advice about traveling with toddlers, they show off their recent crafts or baby clothes finds, and, of course, post beautiful pictures of their children all on Instagram.
Mom's are busy with their little ones, but after days of maybe only talking to their 1-year-old...they want comradery and adult conversations. Instagram mom communities are the answer for many weary homemakers out there.
Online shops and baby apparel boutiques are catching on and partnering with these moms, and they become brand ambassador/social media influencers with their baby model children.
Each mom has a personal brand, so partnered giveaways are a fun way they engage with their audiences just like other lifestyle and fashion bloggers.
This is a marketing segment to watch. With mom's taking up a great portion of today's consumer spending and their propensity to shop online more than a lot of demographics, brands should look for opportunities for partnerships with these influencers. I see this having great revenue potential.
Now don't get me wrong, I am NOT accusing these moms of using their babies to get rich or famous. They're simply sharing what and who they love, and it just so happens to be a very marketable concept. I mean, come on just look at those baby faces!

Here's ^ another one of my favorite Insta-mom's. Her babies are so cute, her posts are so real, and she shares clothes tips so I'm hooked. I'm not even a mom.
Do you follow Insta-mom's on Instagram? Who are your faves?
